Everyone has a smile worth protecting and we all know how important looking after our oral health is but sometimes the costs can add up. Your Vhi Dental Plan Plus will help you to manage your routine dental costs, while also giving you insurance for major treatment and emergencies.

Regular dental care

  • Immediate cover for regular dental visits, cleanings and x-rays.

  • Flexibility to attend a dentist of your choice from our Dental Network.

  • Cover for orthodontics - waiting period applies.

Use Dentist Direct Pay when you attend a Vhi Dental Network dentist

• You don't pay for check-ups, cleanings or X-rays. You only pay the dentist for the costs not covered by your plan. Phone us on (046) 9077 337 before your dental appointment, so we can set up Dentist Direct Pay for you. For more information check out Vhi.ie/claims and select 'Dental'.

Dental examinations, cleaning and X-rays

  • Routine exams, 2 per period of insurance, with up to €100 per treatment.

  • Scale and Polish, 2 per period of insurance, with up to €120 per treatment.

  • X-ray cover, limits apply - see your Table of Benefits for full details.

Fillings and extractions

For children and adults - covered after three months:

• Fillings and simple extractions 70% cover.

• Treatment of gum disease 70% cover.

Just for children:

• Space maintainers and stainless steel crowns (up to 18 years) 70% cover.

Crowns, veneers, dentures and more

• Crowns, onlays, inlays and veneers and root canal 50%.

• Dentures, bridge and implant supported crowns 50%.

When you’ve been with us for one year, you can access these major treatments but bear in mind, a €750 annual max. applies. to crowns, inlays, onlays and veneers, and €1,000 to dentures, bridge and implant supported crowns. See your Table of Benefits for full details.

 

Dental Injury Implants - contribution covered after 3 months

• Dental injury implant – €2,000 per fixture.

This can be accessed due to a dental injury following an accident with a max. of 5 fixtures per period of insurance. See your Table of Benefits for full details.

Oral Cancer benefit

• Lump sum payment of €5,000 upon diagnosis of a primary Oral Cancer - paid once, per person, per lifetime.

Orthodontic benefit for all

For children and adults – covered after 2 years:

• Lifetime orthodontic benefit €1,250.

Loyalty programme

By offering specific loyalty benefits, we show our appreciation for customers that stay with us over the long term. The maximum amount a member can claim in any one policy period for benefits increases with each year of continuous cover. The amount increases from €1,000 in the first two years up to €1,200 in year three and four and up to €1,500 in year five and thereafter.

Policy maximums - subject to waiting periods

  • Dentures, bridge and implant supported crowns, per member, per period of insurance €1,000.

  • Crowns, inlays, onlays and veneers, per member, per period of insurance €750.

  • All other services, per member, per period of insurance - up to €1,000.

  • Lifetime orthodontic benefit, after 24 months - up to €1,250.
